DYNAMIC FIGHTING ARTS KUNTAW/KALI

DFA Kuntaw is an eclectic blend of martial arts we call Kali/kuntaw, which is a martial art used for street fighting, not tournament competition. It is a blend of Kali-Escrima, Pangamut (Filipino Empty Hand), SE Asian Kuntaw, Silat & Muay Thai.  In the training program you will find lessons on the single stick, double stick, stick & dagger and long staff (bangkaw). Then you have the dagger, double dagger, whip and other weapons along with empty hand (Pangamut), elbows, knee strikes, kicking and joint locking techniques. Other Filipino arts include Panantukan (Filipino Boxing), Pananjakman (Filipino Kicking), and Dumog (ground fighting).  We draw from the arts of Pekiti Tirsia, Doce Pares, Dekiti Tirsia Siradas, Lameco, Sayoc Philippines , Tat Kuntaw & Balintawak.

HARMONIOUS FIST KUNTAO (YIHETUAN KUNTAO)

Kuntao  is a Hokkien term for martial arts created by the Chinese community of Southeast Asia. Literally meaning "way of the fist".   Although it is most commonly practiced in Indonesia among the Chinese Indonesian communities, styles of kuntao are also practiced in Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines.  Yihetuan Kuntao, or Harmonious Fist Kuntao is a Southeast Asian / Chinese Kuntao system taught by Sifu / Guro David Seiwert in USA. the system is basically a blend of Southern kung fu (hands) and Indonesian Silat (footwork, sweeping) and  a large Filipino Kali influence.  Kuntao is a fighting system that uses the natural weapons of the body for striking, kicking, throwing, and joint manipulations.  Weapons training in Kuntao consists of the Long and Short Staff and the use of bladed weapons of various types.  Our students also train in the rare Fighting Sash & Sarong of Kuntao.

PUKULAN PENCAK SILAT TEMPUR

PPST is a no-nonsense style of self-protection developed from Bhakti Negara, Wu Tong Silat, Poekoelan Tjimindie, Huc Chung Kuntao, Royal Kuntao & Muay Sila/Boran as well as Police & Military CQC.  The system teaches combat applications of evasions, hand & foot strikes, as well as limb destructions and more. PPST does not teach every style listed, they are simply listed to show where some techniques, fighting principles and/or philosophies are derived. Some systems/styles have had more of an impact on PPST than others and this list is not complete. There are no belt ranks, uniform requirements or testing required for this style, however there are Phase Completion Certificates for those wishing to test for one and takes between 6 months and 1 year of training.

MALAY FIGHTING ARTS HARIMAU

The Harimau System is a rare and sophisticated style seldom seen in the United States.  This Version of Harimau is based on the Wetzel System of Silat called "Poekoelan Tjimindie". Harimau is a highly effective method of fighting from the ground. This way you can stay in the fight even though you're on the ground, and your attacker is standing over you  The 3 divisions are: Matjanan Tingi (High Tiger), Harimau (Low Tiger), and Matjanan Lontjat (Leaping Tiger). You will learn basic postures and movements, Langkahs, basic kicks and strikes, combinations, drills, and more that lead fight free fighting.
